Day 6 - Return to Front Royal
Day 6 - Shuttle - Rileysville to Front Royal
My last overnight of this amazing tour, was spent with my newly-made friends Mike and Janelle of Rileysville, VA. I was introduced to them by Joe - a warmshowers.org host near Grottoes, VA. Joe coordinated with Mike and Janelle to help me get out of the forecasted rain and below normal temperatures. (Thank you Joe, so very much.)
I met Mike and Janelle in Luray and they shuttled me to their beautiful cabin that is nestled on the side of the Shenandoah Mountains in Rileysville. Guys, thank you both for the warm welcome in Luray and the great hospitality, conversation and healthy food that evening. I sincerely enjoyed sharing stories about art, adventures (your thru AT hike) and our families. I feel like family now, I hope you find a place for duck thingy I left for you ~ it travelled with me during the entire tour.

Closing thoughts to fellow bicycle travelers: If you are retired military or a member of the American Legion, Post 53 in Front Royal might be a good resource for safe parking of your vehicle for this six-day loop. The Super 8 in Front Royal is another possible source.
