Restful Day in Fairhaven

Crepes, cookies, coffee with some pizza and laundry thrown in

We did walk 5 miles on our rest day. And it was a lovely day-70’s and sunny!

Since the Inn only serves muffins and cookies for breakfast, we went next door to an authentic European Creperie. Hands down the best crepe I have ever had. Wonderful French press coffee. Yum!

Laundry was next-not as much fun but necessary. Then we had a nice walk down the waterfront to Boardwalk Park and on to more coffee and cookies. Then a visit to a grocery store to resupply our snack bag.

I took a brief nap until dinner time. We have fallen into a pattern of eating big in the morning and then having an early dinner, +/- desserts and drinks later on. Tonight we had artisan pizzas and shared a complementary warm cookie with ice cream.

Another short walk found us at a beer garden with some live music. Unfortunately it was too loud to stay long.

Back at the Inn I went over the complicated route for tomorrow as we head to Anacortes.  I am driving and there are about 20 intersections to navigate. Unfortunately the truck’s nav system brings up the most expedient route, not the meandering bike route.

Jim was already awake and well into relaxing when I woke up.

This ship docked overnight. We think it is one of the Alaskan ferries.

Scott AndersonIsn't this a lovely feature of the town? I'd be pretty happy to spend another month here again. My first wife and I spent a year in Happy Valley (just inland from Fairhaven) about fifty years ago after I got out of the army.

Genny FoxMy apologies for mislabeling the Legislature buildings Jacquie! I went back and re-did those. Thank you for your other helpful info as well. We love Canada and I am sure we will be back again!
