This was a day off at Scott M’s house. Many thanks to his wife who cooked us wonderful food and did our laundry. After the elevation yesterday, our legs needed a break, so we took the opportunity to pick up some supplies, perform bike maintenance and watch Formula 1 qualifying. Prior to the ride, I was considering options to deter dogs that want to eat bikers for sport. With the first chase in the books, I decided to pick up a small bottle of pepper spray gel. Apparently the gel shoots a stream of product versus an aerosol that has a limited range and can blow back on you. It came with a Velcro armband strap that I attached to a water bottle holder. If needed, I can grab the bottle and operate it with one hand.
