Stopover in Ottawa
I decided to go to Ontario for a few days on the way to the UK. This gives me a chance to see some family and checkup on my sister in Guelph. Yesterday was not a particularly nice day weather wise so Tim and I checked out the sport expo associated with the big running race weekend in Ottawa. There are multiple races on Saturday and Sunday including a half and full marathon. I was lucky and found a bargain on a pair of New Balance shoes.
Today the weather was much improved so Tim and I went for a cycle south of Ottawa since many of the roads in the city were closed for the races. We road down to Osgoode and back along the Rideau River past Manotick. There was an ice cream stop at Kelly’s Landing where there was once a ferry that crossed the Rideau River.
