Letcombe Regis to Wallingford

Today we set off from Letcombe Regis to Wallingford in weather that was less than predictable.  We had a few showers but got to Wallingford before the real rain came.  We rode on a variety of surfaces today ranging from cheap seal in various conditions, gravel roads, narrow single track trails and grassy fields.  As usual we rode through lovely farmlands and quaint villages.  Once in Wallingford we had lunch and then went walk about.  Also, Wallingford is the birth place and residence of Agatha Christie.

The route for today

Here we are walking in the outer moat of the Wallingford castle.

The Wallingford castle is a ruin now. It had a tumultuous past being sacked during the English civil war.

After a big lunch about 2pm we decided to have a light evening snack in a common area in the hotel, with wine of course.
