Day 7 - Almighty God
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
Oof. That was a long day. 192 miles. Just under 15 hours in the saddle. Glad it was over but also very grateful for today. I woke up and was chilly. Got going about 30 minutes later than had hoped because I slept in a bit till 5:10. Got going to get breakfast at 25. 2 pizzas and I stashed a burrito in my jersey for later. Next stop was 50 miles later. Felt great. Some wind and I called mom and was a little frustrated. About 5 minutes after she hung up the wind changed! More of a cross/tailwind. I got to talk to Andrew again, Seth and Mrs. Kortenhoven, Papa, Caleb, and I missed a call from Lucy. I was from one phone call to the next. It was amazing. That took me from mile 40-80 and I had the burrito then. So good. Not much happened just change of scenery with some more hills than flatland. Felt great at 95. Just kept it rolling. Got to talk to mom again at 120 or so. Stopped for some bars and then got to talk to Lucy! I hung up as I entered what I knew to be the hardest part of the day. 15-20 miles into a headwind. I stopped 8 miles through and it was hot but got some more pizza and bacon Mac n cheese. Also got to talk to Ben. So good! Kept going after that and energy was low. It was tough getting through Williston with traffic, dirt, and low motivation. Eventually got out and got to talk to Ellis on the phone. So good talking with you brother. I called Papa at the state line. I called him for both me crossing 1,000 miles of the trip and entering Montana. What a blessing. Got to call Ellis back and enjoyed the changing scenery. Pretty cooked the last 10 but made it with bars for dinner. So good. Called my parents and got ready for bed. Not much time to relax! Ready for tomorrow!!
