John Fleckner commented on Day 36: Biesbosch to Kerkdriel

Looking forward to your Maas/Meuse trip. We took route from Maastricht back to Amsterdam in 2019. At the last minute decided not to head down into France. Some day.

Maybe the name was lost in translation. The materials had said the Biesbosch had water "buffel",which we took to be water buffalo, and showed this beast. We did not think it looked like any water bufdalo we ever saw either, but?...?

We had one eye on that cell the whole time we were riding. It missed us!

I don’t think so - the horns don’t look right. I think he’s a Highlander. I was surprised to see that there are buffalo in Holland though. I’d like to see that.

Oh, you figured it out. I’ve already looked up the link so might as well share it. https://www.cycleblaze.com/journals/europe2021/in-antwerp-three-river-ramble/#31366_cqewf82hstaqseg4ne3y1qibv59

Steve claims to still be unable to differentiate euro coins while Dodie understands them, but finds that they often pile up in unnanageable quantities. Even though she tries to use coins as often as possible there always seems to be either too few or too many to really be helpful. That is why the poor ferry Schipper got shorted by 3 euro cents.

We find coins hilarious. I tried to get rid of a few in Spar and received even more in change.

Two days in a row now. We are hoping for Three's a Charm!

It looks glorious. We are still waiting for such a sight.

We were very lucky. He was able to work on the bike right away and had it ready in less than 25 minutes. Dodie feels much more se ure when her brakes are working.

We followed the numbering system the Dutch have to avoid getting lost, but you're right, with more time one could just ride fairly aimlessly until it was time to go back to the hotel. At that point, without a GPS, one would be hopelessly lost. All paths look more or less the same.

It's a big thing here. We are not fans either, but research required at least one try.
