2 months agoI'm glad you included this photo even though it's not yours. It's such an exceptional spot. We dropped through it in 1996, and I spilled in one of the macaroni bends. They were unlit back then, absolutely black at the center of the bend, and slick. I wonder if they're illuminated now.
2 months agoLyle and I use an app called pocket earth. It is a map that is created using the OSM info. We just import the gpx track into it. We then just have a electronic topo with our route on it. You can display it in what ever colour you fancy. Then there is a ‘you are here’ dot that you can follow if you like. We really like it as it doesn’t talk to you and if you don’t like the original road you can easily see any other options.

2 months agoGreat to know your bike is fixed Anne. Glad you had such a good day full of variety and lovely people. So good! xx
2 months agoI had Boldo on my mind after seeing it when I was planning the route. I just had to go up and see it today, so I dropped my bags at turn 18 and rode up to the point where I could see it, just below the galleries. David wasn’t psyched for it, so he stayed behind and guarded my bags. It was a lung buster, and I’m so happy to have seen it. Gorgeous day today.
2 months agoI'm sure you've got tomorrow's route planned, but just in case you might check out Passo San Boldo, which begins about eight miles west of you on the road north from Tovena. A unique pass, one I'd love to see again.
