Nothing better than a bit of boogey shoe to start the days’ ride 🎶
Gotta love those tunnels too!

Yes, we were flying past it and I’m so glad I stopped to check it out. The variations in snowfall are pretty dramatic. And not what you’d think.

Agreed, but it’s often the case that they don’t touch the outside of the buildings and focus only on the insides. We have seen this over and over, just not in this region of Italy.

Exactly, & great to have, like concert tickets.
At some point, they should all be lined up together, like the trophies they are! 🏆

Seeing the pics on google map, it does not look maintained at all.
Nevertheless, it is still a very intriguing looking structure.

That is a very clever way to have a visual representation of the weather, as well as a very interesting art installation.

Haha, that moniker just might stick, Gondola Man 👍

I'm really glad this came up, because it wouldn't have occurred to me otherwise. There are a few of the bus lines that take bicycles if there's space, including the line from Bressanone to Ortesei. And, there's a cable car from Ortesei to Seiser Alm that takes bikes too, and runs through the end of October. If we're lucky with weather it would be brilliant to bundle up nd bike the plateau while Rachael took a hike..

We don't do real passes any more, but we've got to find our way to get up to Ortesei again this fall - maybe leave the bikes below and take the bus up from Brunico. We stayed there for five nights in the winter on an x-country ski trip years ago and took that tram up to the plateau every day. Surely the best x-country skiing experience of our lives, but I've always wanted to come back and see it in the summer too.
