Congratulations on your ride Julian, not easy in those temperatures. Love Portugal and if the drivers were as considerate as the Spanish it would be my #1 touring destination. If you're ever down Cádiz way let me know, we do Warmshowers, my wife suffers from Parkinson's but keeps going by running a cat charity here. I just explore the countryside by bike.

Well done on making it through. Those temperatures sounded ridiculously tough. It's a brilliant achievement to have reached the end!

Which restaurant did you have the paella? I will be back to Praia de Mira in September.
1 month agoListen to your inner voice. If you are feeling the heat the decision to "take a day off" is probably wise. You can ride again the next day, but not if you end up ill or injured. We rode that route a few years ago and found it a bit of a challenge, and that was without the heat you are experiencing.
1 month agoBrilliant - look forward to a day by day / blow by blow account!

I think there are some vocabulary differences with Canadian English using a mix of American and British words, and some spelling differences with Canadian spelling notably using the extra u in words like honour, favour, and so on. There are others of course. Eh, however, is exclusively used in spoken language.

BTW, does Canadian English add the occasional eh?
How lovely, you will be using Canadian English. This is, of course, quite normal for us Canucks. We did the route you are proposing a few years back and quite enjoyed it. Mostly flatter in the North and hillier in the South.
