The thing is, you make sound like life is good when it's raining, you're hungry, you are just pedaling and pedaling, not just when it is sunny.

"Fish permits do not authorize tresspass" feels like a whole novel.
Wish we had a pic of you lunching under the truck trailer.

Gorgeous.
I've taken a million shots, but yours stands out here. Finally tasted it. Wouldnt want to have survive Alone-style on it, but I can imagine adding it to soups. But I couldn't/wouldn't dare touch that particular bouquet.

Makes me want to build a raft, ride the thing a LONG way, make a friend and plan adventures. Just finished JAMES (but forget the author's name. Huck and James are on my mind a lot these days. Far more than usual.

Okay... I am looking at Google Maps and using my iPhone from my comfy Seattle bedroom to confirm for myself that there is very little civilization where you are headed and you are getting OUT THERE! I tried to get some weather forecasts ahead of you and most of these locations must not allow electrons to go there because the weather app reports absolutely nothing. Your photos look amazing!!! Stay healthy and sleep for 10 hours whenever the urge strikes!

When I lived in AK, you used to be able to bring a bag of tips into the brewery in exchange for a free pint. Looking forward to reading more of your adventure.

Starting to feel like you are on Alone except you're not alone, you're connecting with everyone you meet along the way, and that you already won, but unconcerned with winning, you carry on. Props.

Took a sec. Thought for a moment that you’d found a super cool kind of live-aboard kayak, then realized what I was looking at. Will never forget driving beside o fleet of trucks carrying a slew of windmill wings, one per truck, astonished at the scale of those things and the ethereal beauty of their shape. Felt like petrified mythic sea creatures.

@Lou it will be interesting to learn how the U.S. will be able to grow this sector of its economy, in four years or forever.

We were on the ferry the night of the first moon walk. All the cheapos, including ourselves, didn't sleep anyways but listened to the broadcast on someone's radio. Hey, it was a long time ago!

I waffle in my response to the Potemkin facade used to disguise a clearcut. Much as I appreciate being shielded from the devastation, I know it's akin to ignoring the source and process of questionable food, products etc. It is a particularly good time to resist the pressures to be ignorant. Thanks for mentioning that detail.
