Good God, this absolutely takes my breath away. Kinda gasping.

1. I LOVE that you consider 70 to be "stultifying heat."
2. I love the free=flowin' life-as-adventure element of your blog/adenture, but I like even more the research you blend in, the awareness of the world around you.
3. I wish there were a way to include more than just caloric/nutritional info on the stuff we consume. We desperately need a way to calculate and KNOW the costs of what we do/consume. Thanks for helping to make that resoundingly clear.

Was in New York City for a wedding yesterday. Looking out my cab window on the way, I noticed a wildly eye-catching three-masted vessel that seemed from an entirely different century. And then I noticed it was drifting backwards, and then it went out of sight. But I found out the next day it crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge, knocking 30 feet of the tallest mast and two or more sailors that were in the rigging. Hard to stomach.

Gotta thank you again for your efforts to document all this. Loving life as it is for me. But it sure is nice to enrich it with a little side-saddle living!

Feeling like a wingwang to say this, but isnt that a Hooded Merganser, not a Bufflehead? Yep. Taking strange joy catching you on this, since your knowledge of insect, plant and fauna species blows mine away.

Are you kidding me? I need a journal entry every day, with top notch photos. JK. Kurt any entries of any kind infrequently with whatever you take photos are wonderful. This trip is an adventure with friends (virtually). Love you for posting whenever or not - P

40 mph on loaded bike is exhilarating, dangerous, memorable. Well done on a well made bike, your trusty steed.

That scary joker mask makes you appear crazy, cheeky, silly, and approachable to people who already wonder who you are riding your bike alone out there in late winter. The country is gorgeous, your photos show it. What an adventure
