Given your wealth of experience, it doesn’t surprise me that you often come up with an example of how your life intersects with someone you meet along the way, but Alaska, Green Bay, the high school, the Idaho connection? That’s a pretty long list!

What was used to keep Bob and Willie propped up?

Thanks for the comments on highway construction and wee history of the forests. Not sure why but I cant see the pictures for this entry, just the titles.

So good to see you and Kathy together here.
Happy belated birthday!
This entry includes what is likely my favorite moment of your trip, the truck stopping to ask "How far to the next gas?" So wonderful in so many ways.

You really have me hooked now, feeling the momentum, the freedom. Thanks for mentioning Memorial Day and spelling out one way that others' sacrifice has played out to be favorable for you. In significant contrast to you, Jenn and I went to The Gorge (at George) for The OUtlaw festival, featuring Lake Street Dive, Billy Strings, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. To my shock and chagrin, there wasnt a single mention of Memorial Day though there sure were a lot of flags flying and boots strutting the way boots do. More to say, but this is probably not the place.

Ok, ok, you drew me in again. I thought it was too much to live vicariously, but I am feeling the momentum again, especially with those shots. MMMMmmmmmm good.

Man that looks like a great place to land!
I found one more difference between you and me: my son and I intentionally used one of those "tall, green half-as heavy as my pannier" stove and fuel sets, believing it would be the easiest to replace fuel with. As we established long ago, compared to you I always prioritized food/taste over weight, while you reverse the order with fervor. Good luck!!!

Ok, this is the one puts me over the edge, causing enough envy that I cant concentrate here in my excellent little world. So so glad its working out for you. Sheesh to I get the annoyance/chagring of leaving a campstove behind.... This morning I left a nice chunk of salmon on the counter at the grocery store, having been too busy packing up for my bike than to make sure to look behind. NOT the same thing as your stove, but....

I appreciate reading these entries, and seeing you and Kathy together for your Birthday. Hope the you were able to procure a suitable stove in Whitehorse.
