1 year agoThat was, and still is, an impressive sight! I'd encourage you to grind it out and make it to the top of the pass, at worst it will be Type II fun, at best high grade Type I

The stuff we had on the back of the bikes were random bits of cardboard that we scavenged from a recycling bin to use as ‘packing and padding for the bikes’.
The boxes that we got at the Geneva airport were absolutely first rate, and they even supplied all the packing tape you wanted.
Are these the boxes you had folded up on your bikes in the Geneva airport photos?
3 years agoI'm really enjoying reading this journal as I sit inside and avoid the smoke outside (very bad air quality in Vancouver just now due to the wildfires south of the border). Just yesterday, as we watched the Tour de France stage starting in Lyon, we were thinking we should maybe start from there on our next Alps tour.
