Well you had potatoes, cheese, bacon and onion so lots of veggies. Oh, and excessive amounts of oil, but who cares?

The hiking is amazing, so I’m okay with not biking. We saw Capo Rosso and the calanques today from a boat - spectacular! I may do a hike that way tomorrow. Then our next stop is Corte, so I’ll look into your suggestion. We’re aiming for two nights in Bonifacio next week.

Thanks! They’re beautiful. And quite common near the shore.

I'm so sorry it didn't work out for you to bike, and I'm not surprised that the driving is stressful. It does open up some possibilities for places you might not have gotten to otherwise though. A few suggestions to consider: walking along the astonishing white cliffs at Bonifaccio, the hike up the Gorges de Restonica (near Corte), and the Calanques and hike out to Capo Rosso south of Porto. But it's all amazing, you can't go wrong unless you get run off the road. Good luck!

Driving in Europe, for a non European, takes nerves of steel as we know. Congrats on a successful Day 1.

Thanks for the shout out. We are sitting in our hotel room, eating sandwiches, and drooling.

They were all very good! Brocciu is everywhere. I’ve since had brocciu and lemon ice cream, which was divine.

How did the brocciu beignets taste?

Betsy, I followed your Sardegna journal when planning my own tour. I ran out of time to cycle Corsica, so I look forward to experiencing it through your journal! Enjoy the journey.

One of the services of the Ibis Styles is its airport shuttle. :-)

Residhome Nice Aéroport. Decent place, with a huge indoor bike storage area that would be great for reassembly. Very near the Ibis Styles. And an Ibis Budget too. There are dozens of hotels in the same area. And super-easy access to the seaside bike path. A bit far to walk to Terminal 2 with a bike bag, we think.

This path will always be special to me after we rode it at 4 AM on our way to an early flight one summer 20 years ago (the same tour when we went to Corsica the first time). 4 AM, and the place was topping already. The volleyball games were already active on the beach.

Which airport hotel? We are shipping our cases to Ibis Styles Nice Cap 3000 Aeroport, where we have a reservation there made after they said they'd receive and store them. I chose a more expensive place for the better service...

Airline food. We recently flew Melbourne to Dubai on an A380 Airbus owned by Emirates Airline.
The food was great!
