He may not remember much, but we can fill him in. If you have time in Zagreb I'd recommend visiting the museum of broken relationships. We went a few years back and it was one of our highlights of that trip.

I watched a documentary about the rebuilding of that bridge using the ancient techniques that would have been used when it was first built.

Yes, we are running out of time to cycle all the way back. For now we are planning to cycle to Sarajevo, then Zagreb and probably Maribor to Klagenfurt. We might try to take a train from there to get us close enough to France to cycle home to Ossendrecht.
We enjoy reading your posts. Tobias will have plenty of good stories to tell once he gets older.

I'm really enjoying your stories, pictures and especially your good humor about the daily challenges of bike travel with a toddler. Bon courage!

As a former parent (they’re both in their 30’s now), I just want to tell you that you are incredibly brave. I’m in awe!

So many kilometres of cables. We are here in Mostar for 4 nights now to catch our breath, then we are going to take a van across to Martin Brod and ride from there to Ljubljana. After that it might be a train/bike/ferry combo to get to Marseille. The route Mostar-Una national park looked really interesting, just the days were going to be too long and the climbing too much to be enjoyable for all 3 of us. What about you guys? You need to get back to the Netherlands a bit quicker than us.

In Croatia too? We lost it at the Albania/Macedonia border, but it was waiting for us when we re-entered Albania in the north. We hope to be in Sarajevo in five days. Have you decided on a route after Mostar?

Those channels scare us. Dodie especially seems prone to tripping her bike on the edges and faļling.

Yes I poured over their journals while I was pregnant to remind myself that having a baby didn't mean an end to all adventures. Though I doubt we will ever be as adventurous as them (perhaps because they are crazy Australians rather than kiwis).

Love that your journal is here on cycleblaze.
On that other journal site, there is a NZ family that has traveled with their kids each year since 2014, Ross and Christine Hopkins. https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/?o=3d2&doc_id=15281&v=Ah

What is with the idiot drivers who expect the cyclist to somehow leap their bike out of the road? We had two of these come up behind us today and lean on their horns, like that would somehow motivate us to do what? Glad you are all ok.

A favourite memory, when our then 8 year old insisted on an entire barbeque chicken with sides for supper after a 100 km day in the Canadian Rockies. He ate it all, and the wait staff were so impressed they gave it to us free.
