I wonder why they would spend so much time decorating a door? Also, they seem excessively tall (but that may just be the angle from which you took the picture)?
3 weeks agoIt's kind of amazing to me that almost all structures in the countryside are made of wood. How do they keep them from rotting - they don't look painted?

3 weeks agoWhy do you suppose they ever made covered bridges? They are beautiful - but, why be covered when you are crossing a river, when you are in the rain the rest of the road?

3 weeks agoThese little villages crouched down between mountains reminds me of Eastern Ky. (except the mountains there are three times as high as ours!)
