Wow, that must have been fun to see. The water level must have been much higher.
20 hours agoI think this is the best part of the rider too. Once a family of four sea otters lumbered across the path right in front of us somewhere near here.
21 hours agoThank you. I’ll correct the caption.
1 day agoProbably Mount Baker. It dominates the skyline to the east—when it’s clear.
1 day agoThanks Mark. No need to feel apologetic. We should probably have done more research. I guess we thought there would be more signage and clear directions.
2 days agoI totally agree!
2 days agoAmber, Genny and Jim,
I'm feeling very sorry and apologetic that I did not post a note to you about walking your bikes up to the US control point. I had thought about it, and thought you'd run into other cyclists who have local knowledge or just see them going to the door and taking their bikes inside.
Anyway, you've had good weather, and it was nice for you to have the low tide to expose the tidal flats.
Thanks to both teams for taking time to post for us. It's great to see home turf through your cameras and commentaries!
We always take distance over heavy traffic if given a choice, as long as the elevation profile is more or less the same. Heavy traffic is scary, noisy and difficult to feel safe riding in.
4 days agoThanks, Lynda. Yes, always beautiful. If I lived here I’ve get an annual pass just to see how it changes through the seasons.
5 days agoButchart gardens are amazing. I was there about 30 years ago. Always changing. Beautiful pictures
5 days agoWe have Aurora Australis showing here too.
1 week agoThanks, Wayne. Me too!
1 week agoHave a great trip. Looks like a good plan. Glad you're able to ride again.
2 weeks agoThank you, Kelly. I’m doing well. I was back on my bike after 4 months (to let my collarbone heal), though I was riding on my indoor trainer after a couple of months. I have recovered most of my range of motion, though my shoulder still gets pretty sore after riding on rough roads or if I accidentally sleep on that side. I think that residual soreness may never go away. And the dog bite scar just looks like tooth-sized bruises. Which makes me reflect that almost all the scars on my legs come from cycling. 🚴 I suppose that’s the price we pay for doing what we love. Are you planning a tour this summer?

Yours will be the more authentic cycle tourists room though. The arrive and explode panniers contents look.
