That's probably worse to bike on than sand.
11 months agoThat is very sad! That place was great. But I can understand why it closed. When we went we asked someone about .5 miles away if they knew of place to eat and they said there weren't any close. If locals don't know about it hard to stay in business!

11 months agoA mile long train used to be unusual. Now they have some two miles long. And with only an engineer in front. So when they derail, which seems to be happening a lot these days, one guy can’t do much.
There was one that derailed in a remote area of Maine a few weeks ago. The engine is still leaking diesel into the adjacent pristine lake. It’s hard to get to, though they do have containment booms. The State is pissed off with railroad. The railroad said they are going to disassemble the engine. My confidence in the railroad companies has plummeted, as they cut staff and maintenance.
Haven’t seen a pic of those two in long time, like pre-gray hair. Is Willie retired? Katie looks great!
11 months agoThat’s discouraging…you are in good shape and the hills are still too much. Like that backroad in CT that you dragged me up on our last day before Litchfield.
11 months agoI don’t think I’ve seen one like that. Usually they are quite low to the ground, which makes them stable, but also hard to see in traffic. Sometimes they have a dayglo pennant on a pole, which helps.
11 months agoPotholes everywhere. If there is traffic you can’t dodge them.
11 months agoI only had a century ride once, riding through Massachusetts on my way to Maine, altering leaving you in Litchfield. I had the wind at my back, and the terrain was fairly flat, which is the only reason I made it. I think I ended in Seabrook NH, which fortunately had a campground.
11 months agoYou don’t even need a campsite, just a patch of grass somewhere out of the way. It’s not like you were going to find another campground. Hot showers is great! And lots of campers to talk with, if you choose.
