Hi Jill and Dave

I just want to say thank you from Lyn and myself for the bottle of fizz which you paid for at The Wee Wine Bar on Friday. We enjoyed your company immensely and had such a lovely time hearing your stories and hearing all about your travels and family. Safe journeys and hope to meet you both again soon

Love

Lyn and Amanda

Many thanks, Kirsten for educating me of terms in Europe this American isn’t familiar about! I suppose it is similar to the word “ coffee”, and “koffie”, in the Netherlands.. The first one refers to cannabis and the second is the liquid we usually drink first thing in the morning.. 😃

As Jacquie said it is usually bread and often a bun size with lots of flour on the top. That was my experience anyway. They work well for bacon butties!

We had the special experience yesterday to listen to the organist practicing in the Freiburg cathedral yesterday. It was impressive even though he was ‘just’ practicing. Unfortunately, we missed the mass where he played the full pieces.
One day I would like to learn more about organs and how the ones in Churches actually work! It seems like it would be complicated..

We visited there too in 1989 and replaced a lot of our outdoor gear as our moving shipment was lost and all our gear had to be replaced. Even then it was an excellent store.
Thanks for taking me down memory lane.

It was a long time ago but I think Lyle and I bought our matching Dawes touring bikes at Dales way back in 1989!!! Mentioning the name tweaked a memory.😊

Been there, done that! Thirty five years ago that was haute cuisine in most of Scotland! As you’ve noted things have moved on quite a bit but nice that you were able to find some ‘Traditional fare’ ;)
The Peat Inn that’s just to the north of you about half way to St Andrew’s was one of only three Michelin rated places in Scotland in the early ‘90’s when we were there and it still has a star to this day. It was great back then so you might want to give it a try (and stay there too - they had eight wee rooms) to balance things out.

Scotland is on my list of places to visit. Not sure when I’ll get there as it’s a long list!
