Thank goodness there are people out there that know about fixing bicycles.....especially when you need them!

Ah yes, we went to that Trek shop too, in the vain hope they would have a clue about my e-assist. No way, all their ebikes are proprietary sealed systems.

Congratulations on completing an amazing tour! It was fun to follow along, and many of us are jealous of the places you have been and things you have done. You did an excellent job of expressing how many of us feel when completing a long tour, and you have inspired me to work on planning my next adventure. Can't wait to follow along with you next year.

George Hall commented on Well, that was fun

In 2019, while living and working in nearby Wiesbaden, I flew out of the Frankfurt airport several times for work trips to Poland and Lithuania. I definitely agree that it's a zoo and a complete mad-house. It gets a little easier when you have used it a few times and learned your way around. The only good thing I can say about it is that there is a train station in the terminal, and you can commute by train to nearby towns like Mainz or Wiesbabden much easier than by driving. Frankfurt is the largest airport in Germany and the 3rd largest in Europe - about 60 million passengers per year pass through Frankfurt - so if possible, avoid it! It always seemed much easier to arrive there than to depart from there, so maybe plan a Germany trip where you arrive in Frankfurt and depart elsewhere.

I don’t think so. If it had been though I’m sure we’d have moved on to a gender neutral term by now - tossx, probably.

Is 'tosser' used in American English?

The owner of Napalm Bike must be an "Apocalypse Now" fan. I am too.

Even if a nice pint doesn't bring good luck, it still gives you the feeling of good luck.

That’s very generous, David. I’d love to read it and will pass it on when done. Probably best to ship it to our permanent address (Elizabeth’s home) in Portland, and I’ll read it when we come back up in February.

And thanks so much for joining us again. Hope you and Maude (? - that old brain problem) are well. Cheers, Scott

Scott and Rachel,
I have a book I would like to send you. It is a novel, a political thriller published in 1980 and written by MacDonald Harris, who under his real name, Donald Heiney was a professor of mine, first at the University of Utah and then later at UC Irvine.
Entitled "The Miracle of Sainte Foy," almost the whole thing takes place in Conques. It very much enhanced our visit to Conques and I am pretty sure it would yours as well. You wouldn't need to return the book, it would be cool if you could pass it on but if not no big deal. But I have no physical address for you. Maybe Portland, maybe Tucson whichever you think would work best.
I can be reached at david lee alston 80 at g mail dot com.
Thanks for the incredible journal, we are looking forward to the next one.

I have the same problem with remembering where are started the day and where we are going to. It doesn’t help that Scott has created all the routes. Oh well, it helps me focus on the experience instead!
