Never heard of 'ronseal moment' before. Looked it up, cool reference thanks for teaching me a new expression.

Moderate being the 2nd level on the Avi scale.....so not low but pay attention and watch for situations that could arise. Compared to 28 kms/hr on a bike, maybe not so moderate if a headwind but pretty nice if warm and a tail wind 🤔. I think Kirsten and I went out sailing when it was gusting to 90 kms/hr, it didn't end so well. 28 would have been a piece of cake.

Lyle and Kristen, good morning. Six of us, including my wife Joanne and I on our tandem, rode from Trieste (Muggia) to Pula in September 2023. Our route included the Parenzana rail trail that Janez mentioned above but it also overlapped with your route quite a bit. I can offer some route and restaurant tips if you’d like, let me know if you would like them.

“Whupped my ass” - love it. I felt the same way after a hard day of navigation between Ghent and Brussels in 2019. I was so “whupped” I consumed not one, but two, main course pasta dishes with my evening meal. You have my sympathies on this particularly challenging day.
