05/11/24 soaked in San Ramon

Slept in, found a coffee house, futzed with my bike belt and watched it rain.

Went back to my room to find the bed and all my stuff on the floor soaking wet from the open window. It’s coming down so hard we had to shout while discussing where I’ll be sleeping tonight. Upstairs in room nine, but I’m leaving my bike and bags downstairs because the route upstairs is a waterfall. Kind of fun, albeit messy.

I’m heading to San Jose tomorrow, hoping that Sunday traffic will be light. I’ll be leaving early, this time not to beat the heat but the rain which is supposed to start in the early afternoon.

I’ve checked the Tica Bus routes and I should be able to get out of Central America in four or five days.

I still don’t have a definite plan, but for now I’m going to see if I can fill this gap. For purely aesthetic reasons.

I spent some time in Alberto Manuel Brenes Park messing with my bike. Still squeaks ☹️

Excellent free public WiFi and working USB chargers. So modern!
