07/31/23 Lake Gillette to Kettle Falls

Kind of a nothing day. Ok scenery. I hung out in a Colville coffee shack with shade and power for a couple of hours, in no hurry to get to Kettle Falls just down the road. It was hot and that made me lazy. I’m still lazy, as demonstrated by the quality of this entry.

Fresh pavement for many miles in the morning. A joy to ride

I believe this is an “erratic”, carried here on the top of a glacier and left behind at the end of the last ice age

The logging trucks were out today, leaving in their wake the pleasant smell of fresh cut timber that persisted until well after the truck was long past

Mid-week campgrounds are rarely full, and this one on Lake Roosevelt is mostly mine
