BAC Best of Bend: Ride Day Eight
Bend, OR to Sunriver, OR via Mt. Bachelor
Up and out of Bend, OR after adding a +one onto our Wordle streak. The smoke cleared out of Bend overnight which gave us a clear view of the climb out of Bend, OR and the top of Mt. Bachelor. Our destination was the Sunriver Resort, OR (42.75 miles with 3,031 feet of climbing). There was an option to add the climb up to Mt. Bachelor skiing lodge, which we took.
It was a long 22 mile climb up and a fun 20 mile descend down. The descend down Mt. Bachelor onto the Cascade Lake National Scenic Byway was smooth, few tight curves and fast (head wind slowed us down a bit). We arrived at the Sunriver Resort early afternoon with time to explore amenities (heated pools, hot tubs etc).
