Day 13: Del Norte - Wooo hooo!

Woo hooo what a fun day. We rolled out to a tailwind, for a change. The road was wide, the trafffic light and hills were minimal. We were on our way to Del Norte but the day was going so well we decided to push on to Sourh Fork in preperation for tomorrow's climb up Wolf Creek Pass. Everything was going well until we turned right, and west and suddenly the wind changed...

....the wind was now in our face, and gusty. But we mustered our courage, put on a brave face with a still upper lip, and rode the last 15 miles anyway. My we are brave!

Everyone keeps telling us, "you're climbing Wolf Creek Pass!?" As if it is a terrible thing. And maybe it is? I guess we will know soon enough.

As a side note, I am getting bitten to shreds by mosquitos. What the hell!? I mean heck. I hate mosquitos. Hope this doesnt last too long.

Tomorrow is Wolf Creek Pass. Wish us luck!

We stopped in a little town called Saguache. Very cute little town with a nice little breakfast diner. Or waitress had spent a year in England, so she could understand Leo without me translating ;-)

Footware in fences. Seems standard in the west.

I read a book about Fremont ages ago. So this is where things went wrong?
