Week 21: to Mityana: one more day of dust

"Send me an email when you reach Capetown," a police officer says as we are taking a break eating nutella on a chapati. Two officers rode up on one motorcycle in white uniforms and talked with us. Clean white uniforms. We see others walking with crisp white shirts or clean white skirts. How do the locals do it? We are covered in dust by the end of the day.

The pattern of the road is becoming tedious. A downhill losing 50 meters, then a very short flattening out and the climb to regain the 50 meters. The road surface makes going down almost as slow as climbing. Out of Busunju, the one lane road became even smaller until Mityana.

This was a long day for us and we are ready for asphalt roads again. Patrick needed to tighten the freewheel occasionally. When in Fort Portal he can make a better repair.

Another dusty settlement at a crossroads off two tracks. A couple of "hey muzungu's" as we're passed.
