8/11/19 - Beachside SRA to Jesse Honeyman State Park

Another roller coaster of a day. Crosswinds. The cool temperatures and blue skies, however, made up for it.

We stopped at a Sunday Farmers Market in Yachats today. Plenty of interesting food samples, beautiful pottery, and nice people. Bought some blueberries, pepper jack cheese, bread loaf, grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough for our picnic lunch....this time near Heceta Head Lighthouse.

Finally arrived at the state park for hiker/biker camping. This is the most primitive of the Oregon State Park hiker/biker sites so far. We do have picnic tables but no lockers (food boxes) or power sources. We have met some very nice cyclists. Mike and Line (pronounced Lynn) gave me some tips on additional places to cycle in California if we have time. Chris is a recent college grad on his first tour. Gabby is from Vancouver.

Since I still haven’t taken a rest day, tomorrow will be thirteen consecutive days of cycling. Made a lodging reservation just down the road. Not sure what we will find to explore but it will be good to take a break and really rest.

Today's ride: 37 miles (60 km)
Total: 576 miles (927 km)
