Conclusion - The Big New Jersey O - CycleBlaze

Conclusion

I have had the idea of this trip germinating for a long time, so it was great to have completed it. There were a variety of environments and surfaces, and the weather was mostly cooperative. I probably should have broken up the mileage differently or trained better. The East Coast Greenway road part in Northern New Jersey was a bit of a bear. The canal trails were, for the most part, in pretty good shape and Philly had bike lanes. Leaving Philly heading east, the Adventure Cycling route was direct and safe until I got closer to Brick. I should have looked for an alternative. The route up the coast was really interesting and the part I would do again with extra time for exploring. Seeing old friends and new friends was one of the highlights of the trip for me, even short conversations with fellow bikers, Skip and Charlie were memorable.

Make new friends, but keep the old.

One is silver, the other is gold.
