Sherman Pass - ✔️

Republic, WA to Colville, WA

Day 5 Republic to Colville,WA

8:00 am start

9:20 am 62°F. 8.2 miles.  Trying to find my pace as I begin the climb over Sherman Pass. Scenic route, nice shoulder, light traffic.  10 miles til the top. Mostly on sport mode. Grade 5-6%.

10:15am 60°F 12.5 miles. About 5 miles til the summit.

Reminiscing this morning about my 70th birthday, pedaling 70 miles with friends, 70°F, on “analog” bikes.  Now at 80, I feel so lucky to have an e-bike which keeps me in the game.

11:15 am, 17 miles-made it to the summit! 51°F at top. Very damp, foggy. Adding leg warmers. 20 miles of downhill coming up.

1:15 pm 64°F 40.9 miles, Columbia River bridge then Kettle Falls. Fog only lasted a mile on the descent, then cleared.

3:00 pm-ish 53.0 miles, arrival in Colville.

Sherman Pass, highest in Washington State

Nancy GrahamI believe that eBikes help many of us to ‘stay in the game’ after years of riding and coming to an ‘age’ and reusing to give it up! Does it for me too as I am your age. Good riding to you.
