Layover in Evora

Evora is the only two night stand we have until reaching Granada and the end of our tour. Today we made a semi-rest day of it, spending a few hours in the morning with further sightseeing in the city, a few hours in the afternoon on a short cycle to the west, and a few hours just loafing around. It was all good. Highlights were visiting the interior of the cathedral and enjoying the countryside west of town - greener than we've seen for several days, leaving us feeling at times like we were cycling through one large cork plantation.

We're watching the weather a bit anxiously. It is definitely turning - it was noticeably cooler today, and overcast. Rainfall is due to arrive in the night and possibly pass on about breakfast time tomorrow, so perhaps our luck will hold for another day. It's looking clear though that we've brought our rain gear for a reason.

Elevation log: 1200' today, 14,600' total.
