Day 24: Moose Creek to Mile 0 Dempster Highway

It was raining when I woke up, so I delayed leaving until 9:40. The roads were wet most of the day.

I spoke with a motorcyclist who had been on the Top of the World Highway. He said it was always up and down and curving with switchbacks. He also said that it was unpaved. I am trying to decide whether I should take all my gear with me and wild camp on the way to the Alaska border, or whether I should do it as a day trip. The road sounds rather tough. It would be a long day trip - over 200 km.

I stayed at Klondike Lodge in the campground at the base of the Dempster Highway. It's $15.75 including a nice shower. They also have rooms available.
