Ludwigsmoos to Munich

We had kind of a hilly ride to Schrobenhausen, and again we were reminiscing about last summer's tour. We had slept there, this time we just had a cup of coffee for old time's sake, and well, because we like to stop for a cup of coffee, any excuse will do.

On to Aresing, again we took a different route than last year and it was an improvement. We managed to avoid a rough path that I remembered disliking. Then came several kilometers that I didn't remember at all. I had absolutely no recollection of all those hills, not steep or long but many. We crossed the Glonn at Markt Indersdorf and all of a sudden I had the feeling we were home, or at least on home territory.

Fortunately, this sandy path wasn't our road, just a path leading across the fields.

The sky started to cloud over and for lunch we set our sights on Mariabrunn, a favorite beer garden. We got there just in time. We found protection from the rain under a leafy chestnut tree and in our rainjackets had a bite to eat. When the rain didn't stop, we figured it wouldn't make any difference if we got wet since we would be home. There we had all the dry clothes we needed. We pedalled the remaining 25 km in the warm rain, maybe not the ideal finale to our summer bicycle tour, but we were home. It had been a great trip and what difference do a few more raindrops make?

At Mariabrunn we took refuge under a chestnut tree, usually valued for its shade on a hot summer day.
